How much does an LPG installation cost and how long does installation take?
An LPG installation costs between 3,000-5,000 RON for sequential systems (most common). Installation takes 1-2 days. New generation (direct injection) systems can reach 5,000-8,000 RON. Payback is achieved in 15,000-25,000 km.
Does LPG affect the engine or car power?
With modern installations (sequential/direct), power loss is only 3-5%. The engine is not negatively affected; in fact, LPG burns cleaner and reduces carbon deposits. Change the LPG filter regularly and service at intervals.
How much more does a car consume on LPG compared to petrol?
LPG consumption is 15-20% higher than petrol (lower energy density). For example, if the car consumes 8 l/100km on petrol, it will consume ~9.5 l/100km on LPG. But the LPG price is ~50% lower, so net savings are 30-35%.
Is LPG safe? Can the tank explode?
Yes, LPG is safe according to European standards. Tanks have multiple safety valves and are tested at pressures much higher than operating ones. Statistically, LPG is no more dangerous than petrol. Installation must be done at RAR-authorised workshops.

Yes, there are Diesel-LPG systems (dual-fuel) that inject LPG alongside diesel. Fuel savings are 15-25%. Installation cost is higher (~5,000-7,000 RON) and installation is more complex. Worth it for commercial vehicles with high mileage.
