About Won sud-coreean (KRW)

The South Korean won (KRW) is the currency of the Republic of Korea, Asia's 4th largest economy. Banknotes feature great Korean scholars and sages, such as King Sejong the Great (10,000 won), creator of the Hangul alphabet. The 50,000 won note, issued in 2009, is the first Korean currency to bear the portrait of a woman (Shin Saimdang). KRW is one of Asia's most active emerging market currencies, and the BOK targets an inflation rate of 2%.
